Brussels Sprouts with Chestnuts
Brussels sprouts can be a bit boring, but are much nicer fried or roasted so they caramelise and chestnuts add a lovely flavour too. These are so gorgeous, even people who don't like them normally will like these.
500g Brussel sprouts halved
30g butter or olive oil
180g packet of cooked and peeled chestnuts, roughly choped
Salt and pepper to taste
Par boil the sprouts for 5 minutes, then in a large sauté pan, heat the butter and fry the sprouts until tender and slightly browning, about 5-20 minutes depending on the size of your sprouts. Add the chestnuts and salt and pepper and stir fry for a minute or two.
